Versatile athlete Jermaine Moye took the time to answer some questions with FFLiveWire's Luke Nicholson about his career at California (PA), his NFL ambitions, and his experiences as a wide receiver, free safety, and kick returner.Luke Nicholson: Who is your biggest role model? Why?
Jermaine Moye: My biggest role model would be my mother. The reason I say that is because growing up she has taught me all of the necessary things to be successful in life. She has also overcame so many different obstacles to make life a lot easier for my brother and I.
Luke Nicholson: What is your greatest football moment to date?
Jermaine Moye: My greatest football moments would be winning the state championship my junior and senior years of high school.
Luke Nicholson: What sports did you participate in during high school and how have they helped you to become a better player on the football field?
Jermaine Moye: In high school I participated in football, baseball, basketball and ran track. I believe the baseball has helped me the most because I played center field and my job is very similar playing free safety.
Luke Nicholson: What did you gain from your experience at the Cactus Bowl?
Jermaine Moye: I found out where I stood among some of the elite athletes and found out that I can play with the best of them.
Luke Nicholson: You have played both wide receiver and free safety at California (PA). How has this versatility helped you as a player?
Jermaine Moye: Playing both receiver and safety have helped me in various ways. Playing receiver I learned that you have to send a message to the whole defensive backfield and get up after getting hit and be physical every play. Also, playing receiver you have to be a lot more calm and execute your offense, as to on defense where you have to run the correct defense but get to the ball and make the tackle. One of the biggest things I learned from playing receiver, that will help me at safety, is that a receiver's alignment means everything and helps narrow down what they can do.
Luke Nicholson: What led to the decision to move from free safety to wide receiver before the 2007 season?
Jermaine Moye: When getting moved to receiver, I was just as shocked as everyone else. I actually reported to the first day of camp and received the information that day. It was tough to not want to be a part of the defense, especially since I knew that was my strongpoint and I was one of the leaders. The coaches decided that it would be best for the team and our chances for success, so I did it with no complaints.
Luke Nicholson: Do you prefer playing free safety or wide receiver? Are scouts planning to work you out at both positions?
Jermaine Moye: To be honest, I have heard different things about where I am wanted to play. I love the game of football and would love to do whatever the team that picks me up has in store for me. I just go out and play and let the coaches do their job and direct me to what they want. I like to win and that’s my main focus, but I wouldn't mind playing both ways if it was possible.
Luke Nicholson: Who is the best player you have faced during your career?
Jermaine Moye: I've faced a lot of good competition throughout my career, but I would have to say Jamar Brittingham. I like the way he plays, he runs hard and breaks tackles.
Luke Nicholson: If you could have any super power, what would you choose? Why?
Jermaine Moye: I would want to be invisible. I'm just nosey and would like to know what people do in their free time. lol
Luke Nicholson: What one thing do you have to work on the most to make the transition from a Division II school to the NFL level?
Jermaine Moye: I would say time in the film room. I think that will make all the difference in the world for me. I was never really much of a film person early in my college career, but my senior year at receiver I spent more time because of the transition and it really helped.
Luke Nicholson: What current NFL player does your game most resemble?
Jermaine Moye: On the offensive side of the ball, I would say Hines Ward. The reason for this is because he is physical, makes plays, likes to be hit and get up and walk away and we both have deceptive speed. Defensively, I would say Rodney Harrison. The reason is because he is a fierce competitor, trash talker, and doesn't care about anything but winning.
Luke Nicholson: If someone decided to make a movie about your life, what actor would play you and what would the movie be titled?
Jermaine Moye: Probably the Rock. The Great
Luke Nicholson: What are you doing to prepare for your Pro Day?
Jermaine Moye: I am currently in
Luke Nicholson: Which teams have expressed interest in you at this point?
Jermaine Moye: As far as I know, the Steelers, Packers, Broncos, Eagles, Patriots, Bears, Colts, and the Rams.
Luke Nicholson: Is there a specific team you hope to play for?
Jermaine Moye: There is no specific team I would like to play for. If there was it would be the Super Bowl champs of the 2009 season, so whoever that will be.
Luke Nicholson: Are you a cat or a dog? Why?
Jermaine Moye: I would say I am more of a dog. Not a big cat fan.
Luke Nicholson: If you could catch a pass from any NFL quarterback, who would you choose? Why?
Jermaine Moye: Brett Favre. He is a legend.

Jermaine Moye: Charmin toilet paper.
Luke Nicholson: If you could intercept any NFL quarterback, who would you choose? Why?
Jermaine Moye: Tom Brady, he is such a clutch performer and throws very few interceptions.
Luke Nicholson: Are you a better wide receiver, safety, or kick returner? Do you believe you can excel in multiple roles at the NFL level?
Jermaine Moye: I believe I would be best at kick returner. I like to get it and go. No thinking is involved. You just run full speed and find an opening. Yes, not to be overconfident, but I know that I can.

This guy should have gotten a shot on a team. He was a very solid athlete and a clutch performer! Does anyone know where he is nowadays?
