FFLiveWire Exclusive Interview with Kevin Boss

Luke Nicholson: Eli Manning has received much criticism since entering the NFL. What improvements did you see in him as the 2007 season progressed?

Kevin Boss: I’m so happy to see Eli silence his critics and prove himself to be one of the elite QBs in the league. Eli and our whole offense continued to gain confidence throughout the year.

Luke Nicholson: You recorded the longest play from scrimmage in the Super Bowl on your lone catch. Describe that play and how it happened.

Kevin Boss: Coach Gilbride, our OC, noticed that Rodney Harrison was cheating down so we thought we could get him to bite on some play action and sneak by him with a seam route.

Luke Nicholson: What were the festivities leading up to the Super Bowl like and what was your favorite part of your stay in Glendale, Arizona?

Kevin Boss: I didn’t really get involved in the festivities prior to the game I tried to stay focused on the task at hand. My favorite part was spending time with friends and family.

Luke Nicholson: How has Jeremy Shockey helped with your transition to the NFL, as well as your elevation to the starting tight end for the New York Giants?

Kevin Boss: Jeremy has been incredibly instrumental in my development this year. He has been a great mentor for me on the field to watch and learn. I am looking forward to learning more from him next year.

Luke Nicholson: What were the differences between the Giants’ gameplan Week 17 against the Patriots, as opposed to in the Super Bowl against the Patriots?

Kevin Boss: Our game plan was relatively the same with the exception of a few tweaks here and there.

Luke Nicholson: What was it like playing all of your playoff games on the road and how did that effect the mindset of the team throughout the playoffs?

Kevin Boss: We really thrive on the adversity of playing on the road so we couldn’t have asked for a better path to the Super Bowl.

Luke Nicholson: What are your plans for the off-season, as well as your goals for the 2008 season and beyond?

Kevin Boss: I am going home to Oregon to relax and spend time with friends and family before I start training for next season.

Luke Nicholson: Congratulations on your Super Bowl win. Thank you for your time and good luck in the future.
