Sleepers of the Week and Fantasy Tidbits

Jeff Garcia

I expect Jeff Garcia to continue where he left off in the second half on Monday night. He will be the QB that steps out from the shadows and wins a fantasy team a championship.

Jay Cutler

Cutler may be a surprisingly good play in Week 14. Don't expect stud numbers, but he should be a servicable QB starter and is a must start in two QB leagues.

Vince Young

Back in April I thought Young was the best QB of the 2006 NFL Draft class. I have seen nothing different during the season to make me think otherwise. Snagging him in a dynasty league may not be easy, but would be a great move. I have nothing against Matt Leinart or the aforementioned Jay Cutler, but Young is the most impressive.

Ciatrick Fason

Assuming Chester Taylor is shelved for Week 14, Fason should be an adequate start for any needy owner. I don't expect spectacular numbers, but he should outproduce the likes of Edgerrin James, DeShaun Foster, and Steven Jackson.

Maurice Jones-Drew

MJD has been absolutely amazing spelling Fred Taylor this year. I am not sold on him as a feature back just yet, but he is right up there with Marion Barber III as reserve running backs that are worthy of a starting slot on fantasy rosters.

Reuben Droughns

If Droughns can hold down his job, it can only get better. Maurice Carthon parting ways with the Cleveland Browns is the best thing to happen to any of the Cleveland backs this year. Carthon couldn't buy a rushing score if his life depended on it. Droughns, job pending, should be able to up his touchdown totals without his offensive coordinator holding him back.

Marty Booker

Marty Booker is the waiver wire wide receiver of choice for playoff bound teams. Look for him to outproduce Chris Chambers and Randy McMichael combined over the next few weeks.

Arnaz Battle

Charles Woodson and Al Harris are great corners and will limit the 49ers wide receivers in Week 14. Battle could surprise though, as I believe he finds paydirt this week.

Terrance Copper

This bandwagon is dead. Unless Joe Horn and Marques Colston remain dinged, Copper his zero value in standard leagues.

Stephen Alexander

I have a feeling that Jay Cutler likes his tight end. This is just a hunch, but Alexander could be a productive fantasy tight end over the next couple of weeks. Keep in mind that tight ends, as a whole, have been disappointing this season.

Bo Scaife

Vince Young seems to really like his tight ends, as well. Scaife is the only legitimate option at the position for the Titans, so look for impressive numbers from him.

Desmond Clark

Remember the hype surrounding him after the season was a couple weeks old? If you are still clinging to him, it is time to move on. Some relationships need to end. Sever this one before Clark breaks your heart. There are plenty of better options on the waiver wire.

Random Fact

Shaun McDonald has only exited four games this year without a catch. Not a bad considering he is the fourth option at wide receiver for the Rams.
